Nursing in Delaware is regulated by the Delaware Board of Nursing, housed within the Division of Professional Regulation. Despite the state's small size, its health-care sector is busy and centers on ChristianaCare — the largest health system in Delaware and one of the largest private employers in the state — along with Bayhealth and Nemours Children's Health in the Wilmington and Dover areas. Delaware was one of the original enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact states, effective January 19, 2018, so eligible residents hold a single multistate license.

How to register for the NCLEX in Delaware
- 1. Apply for licensure by examination with the Delaware Board of Nursing and meet its eligibility requirements.
- 2. Register for the NCLEX with Pearson VUE and pay the exam fee.
- 3. Once the board finds you eligible, you receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) and schedule at a Pearson VUE test center.

Renewal also asks nurses to attest to a minimum practice-hours threshold; CE is tracked through the DELPROS portal and is subject to audit. Confirm current requirements with the board.
