How to register for the NCLEX in West Virginia
- 1. Apply for licensure by examination with the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses and meet its eligibility requirements.
- 2. Register for the NCLEX with Pearson VUE and pay the exam fee.
- 3. Once the board finds you eligible, you receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) and schedule at a Pearson VUE test center.

Yes. West Virginia has been part of the enhanced NLC since it took effect on January 19, 2018. Nurses whose primary residence is West Virginia can qualify for a multistate license.
Registered nurses are regulated by the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses (the WV RN Board). West Virginia is one of the states that maintains a separate board for practical (LPN) licensure.
Register for the NCLEX with NCSBN through Pearson VUE and pay the exam fee, then apply for licensure with the appropriate West Virginia nursing board (the WV RN Board for RN candidates). Once you are found eligible you receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) and can schedule your NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN at a Pearson VUE test center.
